GreaterFindlayInc., in partnership with the Findlay Publishing Company, will host the 2008 Small Business Awards, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., October 9 at Winebrenner Theological Seminary.

This honorary annual event spotlights the men and women who, through their independent entrepreneurial spirit, play a vital role in building the Greater Findlay community and economy.

Keynote speaker, Gary Harpst, founder and CEO of Six Disciplines, will present Solving the One Business Problem That Makes Solving All Other Problems Easier. As titled from his recently published book, Harpst’s presentation will introduce the new course for how small and midsized businesses can finally confront the never-ending challenge of executing strategy. His latest book, Six Disciplines Execution Revolution, has been named to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-seller lists.

Harpst is also the author of Six Disciplines for Excellence: Building Small Businesses That Learn, Lead and Last, which offers specific details about the Six Disciplines business-building methodology. The publication received the 2007 USA Book News Best Books finalist award, was rated the No. 1 business book for 2007 by The Center for Workplace Excellence and is ranked in the top ten books of the Organizational Learning category on Amazon.

Harpst’s work as an author, keynote speaker, television and radio guest has brought national acclaim to his Six Disciplines strategy. He is also the founder of two Findlay-based companies, Plumbline Solutions, Inc. and Solomon Software.
